On Wednesday, March 4, 2009, our fellow Amiga, Terry Greeley, died. Terry went to Tarimoro in the Summer of 1965. She was there with Flora Mancebo, Blake Rogers and Jim Mills, during that year. Terry graduated from Santa Clara University in 1966 and worked for Amigos for a time, in Berkeley. She later lived in San Francisco with Charlene Kohl Kelzer. Terry earned a Masters degree in teaching English as a Second Language and taught in various community colleges in the South Bay before returning to Ventura, where she has lived for at least the last twenty years.
Having had polio when she was eight, Terry always had physical challenges; but for those of us lucky enough to have known her, we can remember her beautiful lilting voice, sharp wit, and bubbling laughter. In the end, her release came through failing health.
She’s survived by her sister, Pat. Her brother, Mike, died a week ago from leukemia.
